FreeDimension™ version 1.2 offers users access to the breakthrough design technology created in the first generation of FreeDimension™ along with a new architecture that enables optional plug-in modules. The latest release includes the following enhanced output capabilities:
1. An IGES/NURBS (export-only) module that enables FreeDimension™ models to be passed to any CAD system that can handle IGES input and NURBS surfaces.
2. A Professional Tools module that includes advanced construction geometry, inspection rendering, and mass properties. These new features have been developed to make the lives of designers easier.
- Inspection Renderers: A variety of rendering styles provide several different ways to view a model to help to analyze subtle shape variations and imperfections.
- Reference Curves and Reference Surfaces: These are ‘helping’ curves and surfaces to which other geometry can be attached, which can be used to more easily manipulate a design model.
- Mass Properties Tool: This tool calculates the volume and surface area of a body.
- New Curve Construction Surface: This is a special freestanding curve that can be controlled by its projection onto a plane.
